Who We Are
St. Louis Community is more than a credit union. We're a leader and voice for social justice in the financial services world.

Since 1942, we have embraced the credit union motto of "people helping people." We meet the ever-growing banking needs of low- and moderate-income individuals. Because we are a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we can offer better rates and fewer fees than most large financial institutions.

St. Louis Community Credit Union (SLCCU) is a full-service Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) as designated by the U.S. Treasury, as well as a Low-Income Designated credit union and a Minority Depository Institution (National Credit Union Administration). With 14 branches, we reach into some of St. Louis' most financially underserved ZIP codes, including mini-branch offices inside social service agencies. We also operate 18 ATMs, plus participate in a credit union shared branching and ATM network that features thousands of locations nationwide.

How We Serve
We're part of the communities we reach. With 160-plus full-time employees, our connection is real.

St. Louis Community Credit Union humbly serves residents of St. Louis City and St. Louis County in Missouri, and St. Clair, Madison, Monroe and Jersey counties in Illinois.

By The Numbers

  • More than $250 million in total assets
  • 52,000+ total members strong
  • 98% of City residents live within two miles of a branch
  • 6,300+ second-chance checking accounts*
  • On average, we:
    • save our members $8.2 million annually with our Freedom Payday Loan Alternatives (avoiding high-interest payday loans)
    • provide over $2,000,000 in first mortgages per year, cementing the path to home ownership.

But our impact goes beyond numbers.

We view our role as The Social Conscience of Banking® in the St. Louis region. When you do business with us, you are helping the community. We are committed to providing an outstanding selection of checking, savings and loan opportunities to help individuals and families create pathways to wealth.

As part of our overall giveback to the community, we offer:
